As summer continues to roll on, these are the events we are looking forward to most this August:

Special Events

Cocktail Classes with Barbakoa – This month, you have two chances to perfect your cocktail making skills thanks to Barbakoa by Finka. On Wed., 8/10, with Gray Whale Gin and Wed., 8/17, with Brugal 1888. You can find tickets and details here and here

Flower Crowns & Mimosas – Get in bloom for the summer with a flower crown workshop on Sun., 8/28 at 1 p.m. Grab your pals, sip on mimosas, and get festival-ready. All materials will be provided and your first mimosa is included with your ticket.

Food & Drink

¡Los Buenos! Now Open – An offshoot of the iconic Miami brand, Coyo Taco, ¡Los Buenos! brings rajas con papa, chicken tinga, seared shrimp and other tacos, along with burritos, quesadillas and bocadillos like street corn and guacamole to The Doral Yard. Swing by to try our newest concept! 

Pokekai Coming Soon – We’re excited to welcome Pokekai to The Doral yard very soon! Pokekai is a Miami-based Hawaiian concept offering fresh poke bowls, unforgettable poke-and-crispy-rice burgers and more, all made with high quality ingredients and sustainably sourced fish. 

Juan Valdez Kiosk – Later this summer,  we look forward to expanding our coffee options for guests with a new Juan Valdez kiosk in The Hub. Savor lattes, cappuccinos, and delicious pastries very soon. 

Cocktail of the Month – The August $10 cocktail of the month is Summer Siesta.” The cocktail, which can be found at The Bar at The Yard, features New Amsterdam Gin, lime juice, simple syrup, Campari, pineapple juice, and dry lime garnish.

Noche Salsera ft. Sonlokos – Sonlokos bring a salsa party you don’t want to miss on Sat., 8/6, at 8 p.m.

Miami Girls Tumbao – Spend Sat., 8/13, at 8 p.m. getting down to the Afro-Cuban beats of female powerhouse group Miami Girls Tumbao. 

Tropical Sundays ft. Ole & Ashé – Mediterranean Flamenco Rumba comes to life on Sun., 8/21, at 5  p.m., with Miami-based duo Ole & Ashe. 

Friday Sessions ft. DJ Camila di Marzo Dance into the weekend with a set by DJ Camila di Marzo on Fri., 8/26, at 8 p.m.

Booty Fitness with El Box – Come to The Yard for an outdoor lower-body focussed class on Mon., 8/8 at 7 p.m.

Hatha Yoga with Dunia – On Sun., 8/7 and 8/21, at 10 a.m., get into flow with a yoga class right in The Backyard with an emphasis on enhancing your awareness, alignment and acceptance.

July’s here and we’re ready to get festive. These are the events that should be on your radar this month at The Yard:

Special Events

Backyard SummerFest w/ Brothers of Others – Kick off Fourth of July weekend with a jam right in our Backyard powered by Tito’s Vodka. Enjoy food specials like coffee-rubbed brisket sliders, hot dog bao, wings and more, sip on our Cocktail of the Month, Watermelon Sugar, and vibe to American rock’n’roll live with Brothers of Others.  Those 21+ can enjoy complimentary samples of Tito’s Vodka. Admission is free and open to the public. 

Paint & Sip – Grab a canvas and cocktail as you test your creative limits on Wed., 7/13, at 6 p.m. Tickets to the event include all materials necessary including canvas, paints, and brushes. Drinks are not included but happy hour runs 4-7 p.m. and The Bar at The Yard serves specially priced $8 margaritas from 7-10 p.m.

Pokekai Coming Soon – Set to open this month at The Yard, Pokekai is a Miami-based Hawaiian concept offering fresh poke bowls, unforgettable poke-and-crispy-rice burgers and more, all made with high quality ingredients and sustainably sourced fish.

BarbaKantina – Barbakoa by Finka launches a new Executive Lunch on Tues., 6/28. For $28, enjoy an appetizer, entree, and dessert or coffee for a satisfying and tasty lunch break Tues. through Fri., 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

New Teqeños and Panther Coffee at Santo Dulce! – Santo Dulce! now serves deliciously balanced salty and dulce tequeños and Panther Coffee at their Doral Yard location. 

Cocktail of the Month – The July $10 cocktail of the month is Watermelon Sugar.” The cocktail, which can be found at The Bar at The Yard, features Tito’s Vodka, watermelon, gin, lime juice, and sugar rim.

Xperimento + Special Guest at The Doral Yard – Dance the night away under the stars as Xperimento brings Latin reggae funk to The Backyard stage on Sat., 7/9, at 8 p.m.

Fusion Cubana ft. Sonlokos – Spend Sun., 7/17, at 5 p.m. getting down to fresh and innovative tunes by Sonlokos. 

Domingo Colombiano ft. Grupo Barrio Abajo – Afro-Colombian outfit and local favorite, Grupo Barrio Abajo, returns to The Doral Yard on Sun., 7/24, at 5 p.m., for a dance party you won’t soon forget. 

Buena Vista Social Club Tribute ft. Cortadito Travel back in time with a tribute to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club by Cortadito on Fri., 7/29, at 8 p.m.

Father’s Day – Celebrate dad at The Yard on Sun., 6/19. All day, sip on a specially priced ($7) “Gentle Manhattan,” a combination of Jack Daniels’ Gentleman Jack whiskey, Carpano Antica Vermouth and orange bitters. Also enjoy an extended happy hour, from 4-10 p.m. While you enjoy your libations and delicious eats, jam to Latin reggae by MannySwagg beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. 

DJ Xtreme’s Birthday – On Fri., 6/10, celebrate DJ Xtreme’s birthday with tunes by the birthday boy himself. Admission is free and open to the public.

Tequilin’ Me Tuesdays – Every Tuesday, Barbakoa by Finka serves $8 Tequila’ Me Smalls cocktails all day. 

Santo Dulce! Churros’ Reusable Aluminum Cups – Santo Dulce! has just launched their new reusable aluminum cups that will be served with every Shaken Santo milkshake. Continuing on their path to become a non-single-use plastic company, the cup provides a sustainable and easily recyclable alternative that patrons can take home or leave onsite for reuse.

Cocktail of the Month – The June $10 cocktail of the month is Tropical Penicillin.” The cocktail, which can be found at The Bar at The Yard, features Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve, honey-ginger syrup, and lemon.

Tropical Sundays – Get tropical every Sunday in The Backyard with live tropical sounds, frozen piña coladas, and extended happy hour 4-10 p.m.

Hatha Yoga with Dunia – On Sun., 6/5 and 6/26, at 10 a.m., get into flow with a yoga class right in The Backyard with an emphasis on enhancing your awareness, alignment and acceptance.

Crowd-favorite, Shake n’ Make is back for another round on Wednesday, April 21. This time contestants will make a tequila-based cocktail for a chance to win a $50 gift card to the Kendall gem, Finka Table and Tap!

Join Chef Eileen Andrade and bartender Jasmin Pacheco of Barbakoa by Finka–the full-service restaurant opening at The Doral Yard later this year–and let your inner bartender shine through as they teach you all their tips and tricks on how to master the perfect cocktail.

Earth Day Cooking Class with Della Bowls!

A Virtual Earth Day sustainable cooking class will be taught by Chef Julie Frans, accompanied by Debris Free Oceans

Happy Earth month! In celebration, on Tuesday, April 27, join The Doral Yard’s plant-based culinary vendor, della bowls, and Debris Free Oceans for a free online Earth Day Sustainable Cooking Class.

Then our own Chef Julie Frans will teach us how to make the Debris Free Oceans Earth Day Bowl, a delicious low-waste, plant-based meal including organic free trade tri-color quinoa, mixed baby greens, funche (corn fritters), marinated beet and heirloom tomato salsa, grilled zucchini and topped with Julie’s amazing Green Herb Sauce and crispy spiced chickpeas.

Participants will receive a shopping list ahead of time so you can follow along with Chef Julie’s recipe and continue making it for your loved ones after the workshop is completed!
