The Doral Yard is now open in Downtown Doral. We are thrilled to finally make this announcement!
The Doral Yard is a new community gathering concept created by Della Heiman of Yard Hospitality and Joseph Furst, founder of Place Projects, in Downtown Doral, Those of you who loved The Wynwood Yard or newly embraced us in Doral have been so patient and supportive in awaiting this opening.
We are currently open Sundays and Tuesdays-Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays-Saturdays 11 a.m. to curfew (please double check on our Hours page as they are subject to change), The Doral Yard is part of Downtown Doral’s pedestrian-only activation of Main Street.
At The Doral Yard, everyone is invited to enjoy family-friendly arts, fitness and cultural experiences, socially distanced live music and offerings from culinary entrepreneurs. Detailed safety considerations allow peace of mind.
Back to our roots
“This isn’t quite The Doral Yard we imagined a year ago, but it’s The Doral Yard that our community needs right now,“ says our co-founder and CEO Della Heiman. “We want this to be the place where families and locals come and then tell their friends ‘I feel so comfortable here. I want to bring you here.’ because they enjoy the space, our amazing culinary vendors and bar, and also take comfort in the special care we’re taking with health and safety protocols.“
“We always envisioned The Doral Yard as the slightly more mature, sophisticated sister of The Wynwood Yard, but in many ways, our COVID-19 experimentation has brought all of us back to our earliest days in Wynwood, when everything had to be created from scratch. It’s been a fun, humbling exercise for our team to get back to our roots.”
Della partnered with Joseph Furst to open The Doral Yard. Joe played a key role in the development of Wynwood in his role at Goldman Properties for 10 years. Now as Principal at Place Projects, he aims to create value in urban neighborhoods through thoughtful development, planning and content curation. “The cohesive, mixed use nature of Downtown Doral offers a unique opportunity to iterate and create vibrancy in these challenging times. The resilience and determination of the developers, Codina Partners, and the grit of the restaurants and retailers make us more excited than ever about opening a business in Downtown Doral.”

Pedestrian activation on Main Street in Downtown Doral
The Doral Yard is part of a larger pedestrian activation on the main thoroughfare of Main Street. The Yard Hospitality team, the small, but scrappy group behind The Wynwood Yard and The Doral Yard, has been curating eclectic expanded dining space, pop-ups and art installations on Main Street in collaboration with Downtown Doral since August. As the fall progresses, Downtown Doral will continue in its evolution, adding more social distanced activations, arts and cultural experiences, live music and events, in collaboration with the Yard Hospitality team.
The Doral Yard is working with Prism Creative Group to curate open-air, socially distanced music and entertainment on Main Street as part of the activation on Thursday through Sunday evenings.
